The Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks, has been awarded a grant by the Endeavor Foundation to assess the readiness of NWA schools for implementation of "Safe Routes to School" plans and programs to encourage children to be more active and healthy.
Safe Routes to School is a national and international movement to create safe, convenient, and fun opportunities for children to bicycle and walk to and from schools.
So, what do we need from you? Below is a link to a survey to assess Springdale Public Schools' readiness for Safe Route to School plans and projects. What will take maybe two minutes of your time (only 15 questions!) will help us exponentially in identifying next steps for implementing SRTS.
Your responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the project team. This information is important because it will allow the project team to assess the next steps, whether writing grants or identifying projects, to help make your school safer for biking and walking.
We are also looking for people to participate in a SRTS Task Force for school district. The first meeting will be general information and discussion of future meetings and goals. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please sign up here!
