The Springdale School
District is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date
technology for our students. It is our District's mission
to use technology to increase learning. We have two
computer labs. Each lab contains 29 computers. We also
have projectors in our labs. This allows us to teach
the students on computers with a large screen computer.
Each classroom at Hunt Elementary has four student computers
in them. All of our computers are online and have access to
the World Wide Web. At times, our students do research on
the internet with supervision.
In the computer labs,
the students use programs to help improve their reading,
writing, and math skills. We also use software to increase
their keyboarding and computer skills. We have students
working in Word, Excel, and Power Point. Some of the
programs that are on our computers in the lab and in the
classroom are: Oregon Trail5, Reader Rabbit Learn to Read,
Reader Rabbit Word Factory, Reader Rabbit Reading Building
Practice/Adventure, Heartsoft, CornerStone Math, Math
Workshop Deluxe, Star Reading and Math, Accelerated Reader,
and a Phonics software called HelpMe2Learn.
Students in Kindergarten through the 5th Grade come the the
computer labs for 45 min. twice a week. K-5 comes as a
special to one
computer lab and
extra lab times are scheduled in the other computer lab for
teacher/student instruction time. |
